Stephanie Hickling Beckman, enjoys a life full of Drama. She has been attached to
theatre in one way or another since she fell in love with it decades ago. She has acted
in, directed, stage managed or produced somewhere close to eighty plays in thirty
years, but finds she prefers directing most. Stephanie is the founder and Managing
Artistic Director of Different Strokes! Performing Arts Collective, located right here in
Asheville. Her personal ethos is centered around directing and producing theatre that
celebrates Black joy, and recognizes, honors, and promotes our societal differences in a safe and
positive environment.
