A devoted drama queen since age 13, Julie has directed over 45 school, community and professional productions of plays and musicals, and has taught theatre full time at the middle and high school levels for 18 years. Since moving to Asheville, Julie’s local work has included directing Birds of North America (BMCA), Little Women (ACT), A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder (Parkway Playhouse) and a virtual reading of Charlotte’s Letters (Attic Salt). She is currently the high school theatre teacher/director at Franklin School of Innovation and is Co-Founder of Ovation Theatre Arts Collective. Married to a US diplomat, Julie’s teaching, directing and performing credits include work in Chile, Bolivia, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Guatemala. While living in Zimbabwe from 2012 – 2015, she conceived and led a directing mentorship programfor Zimbabwean theatre artists, an especially rewarding adventure.
